How Yapped processes your conversation.
Yapped Drop does two things: local work on your device, then, only if you agree, a reading by Yappy, Yapped’s AI. Here is what goes where, and what is kept.

In short. Your file is read on your device. Nothing leaves before you agree. Then the text of the chat (without phone numbers, emails or addresses) is read by Yappy, an AI hosted in the European Union with zero retention. Yapped does not keep your messages.
STEP 1
On your device, before anything is sent
- Reading the file: the
.txt,.zip,.jsonor.htmlyou pick is opened in your browser. The file itself is never sent. - Statistics: messages per person, media, average length, emojis, who starts conversations, reply times, share of night-time messages. All of it is computed on your device.
- Removing contact details: phone numbers, emails, postal addresses, IBANs and card numbers are replaced by a label, and links keep only their domain name. First names stay, because Yappy needs them to write the cards.
- Fictional chat: trying the demo chat sends nothing: the pack is already written.
STEP 2
Only after you agree
You agree by tapping your name (“Who are you?”). That is when, and not before, it goes to Yapped’s server, which passes it on to Yappy, an AI hosted in the European Union with zero retention: it keeps nothing. The service is for ages 15 and up.
What is sent
- The text of the chat, already stripped of contact details, with participants’ names and dates; a very long chat may be shortened (up to 25,000 lines).
- The per-person figures computed on your device, the group name and your first name.
- Not the original file, no photos, videos or audio files.
If you unlock a paid pack, the full reading sends the text again, the same way. Yapped’s server keeps the result in memory for 10 minutes at most, deletes it as soon as it is first read, and logs no content, only error codes.

Payment is handled by Stripe: Yapped never sees your bank card.
